Data Asset Summary
Asset Title: Early Childhood Longitudinal Study
Description: The Early Childhood Longitudinal Study (ECLS) provides data on children's development, school readiness, and early school experiences. A single ASCII data file contains variables for the six Parent-Infant/Toddler Interaction Coding System-Revised (PICS-R) scales, the videotape duration, the divided attention measure, the child behavior measure, and the triadic positioning measures. The data file has one record per individual child, with each record including data for the focal child and the focal childs twin. The file also includes the child and twin case ID values that can be used to link the twin triad data file to the main ECLS-B data file (e.g., the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Birth Cohort (ECLS-B) Longitudinal 9-Month-2-Year Restricted-Use Data File and Electronic Codebook (NCES 2006-044)).
