Data Sources: The Data Usage Explorer draws data from multiple sources, including (1) the Standard Application Portal and Data.gov to identify federal data assets (and associated metadata); (2) OpenAlex to identify open-access research publications; (3) LegiScan to identify relevant federal legislation; (4) NewsAPI to identify news articles; and (5) other available sources, such as state agency websites. Data assets may also be incorporated into the platform directly by federal agency staff.
